House Captains
At St Edmund’s, our House Captains play an important role in leading, inspiring, and uniting pupils across the school. Each child belongs to one of our school houses and proudly represents their houses in sporting events, build community spirit and encourage healthy competition in all we do.
The Role of a House Captain
Our House Captains are chosen from Year 6 and are excellent role models for others. They are pupils who demonstrate our Gospel values every day, showing kindness, respect, responsibility, and a willingness to serve others.
House Captains:
-
Lead their house in assemblies, sports events and charity activities
-
Motivate younger pupils and celebrate their achievements
-
Help organise inter-house competitions and challenges
-
Collect and count house points each week
-
Represent the school with pride and enthusiasm
Developing Leadership
Being a House Captain helps pupils grow in confidence, teamwork, and communication. They learn to lead by example, support their peers, and take initiative, skills that prepare them for life beyond primary school.
Celebrating Success
House points are awarded for effort, achievement, kindness, and living out our school values. At the end of each term, the winning house is celebrated in assembly, a wonderful moment of shared pride and encouragement for everyone involved.
Our House System promotes friendship, teamwork, and a true sense of belonging – showing that when we work together, we all shine.
