Nursery Admissions

We are delighted that you’re considering St Edmund’s for your child’s early education journey. For Reception 2026 intake, applications are open now and must be completed by 2nd March 2026.
To apply, please submit the Nursery Admissions Policy and Application Form. Make sure to provide a recent proof of address (dated within the last six months) as well as a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport.

Nursery Provision at St Edmund’s

Choosing the right start for your child is an exciting step, and at St Edmund’s we are proud to offer a caring, stimulating and faith-filled Nursery where children feel happy, safe and ready to learn. We provide flexible, term-time only provision, with a range of options to suit family needs. 

Universal Entitlement – 15 Hours Funded
All children are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare. At St Edmund’s, this can be taken as:

  • Morning sessions: 8.45am – 11.45am (Monday–Friday)
  • Afternoon sessions: 12.15pm – 3.15pm (Monday–Friday)

30-Hour Extended Funded Offer (Limited Places)
For families eligible for 30-hour funding, we offer extended places from 8.45am – 2.45pm (Monday–Friday).

  • This includes the 15-hour universal entitlement plus 15 hours extended funding.
  • To check eligibility, visit childcarechoices.gov.uk.
  • Children can stay until 3.15pm with an additional supervision charge of £5 per day (or may be collected promptly at 2.45pm).
  • A healthy packed lunch must be provided for children staying over lunchtime.

Self-Funded Extended Hours (Limited Places)
If you are not eligible for 30-hour funding, you can still apply for extended hours at £9 per hour (£27 per three-hour session), subject to availability.

  • Provision runs from 8.45am – 2.45pm (Monday–Friday).
  • As with funded places, children may stay until 3.15pm for an additional £5 per day or be collected at 2.45pm.
  • A healthy packed lunch is required for children staying over lunchtime.
