Funds & Contributions

At St Edmund’s, we are proud to be a Catholic Voluntary Aided School, rooted in faith and community. This special status means we have greater freedom to shape our Catholic education, but it also means we are not funded at the same level as non-church schools.

For any building or renovation work, the government funds 90% of the cost. The remaining 10% must be raised by our Governing Body. By contrast, state primary schools receive 100% funding.

This is where our School Fund plays a vital role. Contributions from families provide the main source of income that allows us to:

• Maintain and improve the school’s buildings and facilities
• Invest in resources that enrich learning and school life
• Ensure our children continue to learn in an inspiring, safe, and well-resourced environment

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. With the full support of our families, we can continue to give our children the very best, today and for generations to come.
