School Day
Drop-off and Collection
At the start of the day, parents drop children at the school gates where they are warmly welcomed by members of staff. Children then walk straight to their classrooms, where teachers are waiting to greet them and begin the day calmly.
If you need to pass on a quick message, you can email or speak to our school office team, who will happily share it with your child’s teacher.
At the end of the school day, children are collected directly from their classrooms, ensuring a safe and smooth handover to parents.
- Start times: Doors open at 8:45am, and learning begins promptly at 8:50 am, giving children a calm moment to settle in before the day starts.
- Finish times: all children in Reception – Year 6 will be dismissed at 3:15pm
Break Time
We operate a staggered break to give children space to enjoy themselves:
- Infants: 10:20 am – 10:35 am
- Juniors: 10:40 am – 11:00 am
During their 20-minute break, children can stretch their legs, run around, and catch up with friends. Our Buddies help make playtimes fun by leading games and activities for everyone to enjoy. After break, pupils share a snack together and enjoy a few moments of calm before heading into their next lesson refreshed and ready to learn.
Lunchtimes
- Reception: 11:45 am – 12:45 pm (followed by story time, with lessons restarting at 1:00 pm)
- Years 1–4: 12:00 – 1:00 pm
- Years 5 & 6: 12:10 – 1:10 pm
For children who may need extra support at lunchtime, we run a dedicated Lunchtime HUB where they can eat, play, and feel supported in a smaller, nurturing environment.
Afternoon Playtimes
- Years 1 & 2 enjoy a 10-minute afternoon play to refresh and recharge.
- Reception & Nursery continue their learning through play as part of their daily routine.
- Across the school, every child takes part in the Daily Mile, a 15-minute walking break that keeps minds sharp and bodies healthy.
Getting to and from School
Whenever possible, we encourage families to walk to school. Walking is healthier, safer for pedestrians and road users, and helps us to be good neighbours by reducing congestion around the school gates.
If you do need to drive, please use the library car park and walk the short distance to school. Free parking passes are available from the school office. Thank you for supporting both your child’s wellbeing and our wider community.
Before-School & After-School Clubs
Learning doesn’t start and stop when the bell rings. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, from sport and drama to coding, music, and art. These activities help children discover new interests, build confidence, and develop talents beyond the classroom. Visit our Extra-Curricular Clubs page to see the latest opportunities.
